she entered the United States and become a naturalized citizen
on December 29, 1915.

and faith in God that has kept her going all these years. During
World War II, she was the sole caretaker for her parents. The
sudden loss of her husband in 1954 forced Theresa to go back
to work. She applied for and got a job with the Graphite Metallizing
Corporation, teaching herself all the secretarial skills needed
to do her job; again showing her great strength of character.
She retired from this job in the early 70’s and moved
upstate to Red Hook, New York with her brother Charles. The
“Farm” was one of the happiest places for her and
her family. Mom volunteered at The Dutchess Community Hospital
for 14 years and received various citations over the years.
Her
brother Charles died in 1983 and after a few years, she moved

Terry,
nee Marie-Therese Christin, was born in Sassenage, France, a
village resting at the foot of the Alps next to Grenoble, on
August 10, 1932. She was the 3rd youngest of Marie-Antoinette
& Albert Christin’s 8 children. She grew up on a farm
where the Alps meet the land.
In
Fall 1952, while she was the assistant to Baroness D’Orleans,
she attended a dancehall with some friends near Chateaureux,
a place frequented by ‘fly boys’ of the local US
Air Force Base. There she met a boy from Chappaqua, who never
flew a plane, whom she would marry a year later at Notre Dame
in Thizay, France and spend 54 wonderful years. She came to
the States with her husband in 1955, settling in her husband’s
home town, raising their 3 children and later actively participating
in her grandchildren’s lives.
At
various times of her life, she was active with her church, outreach
projects, her ever-expanding flower gardens, her kids’
lives, her grandkids’ lives and travel. She loved to travel
with her husband: Europe, Africa & the United States.
What
she will be always remembered for is her beautiful French accent
that she never lost, along with her unique use and pronunciations
of the English Language.

children: Therese Marie Olson, married to Gary Olson, and mother
to 4 kids, residing in Somers, NY; Michael Campbell, married

with Pat’s special touches and her love of great food,

are indelible in our hearts and minds.

Rosen, Dr. Ronald surrounded by family members, died at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center on October 17 at age 63 after a long struggle with a rare side effect of his stem cell transplant. He survived his first bout with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma ten years ago. Ron was born on May 1, 1944 in NY, NY. He and his older brother Harris were raised by Jack and Lee Rosen on the Lower East Side. Later, when Ron was a teenager, the Rosens moved to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and Ron attended Stuyvesant High School. During summers, he would take various jobs at summer camps in the counties north of the City. Ron particularly enjoyed his role as a lifeguard and waterfront director, and would later share his love of the water with his children.
Ron graduated from the University of Miami in 1966 with a B.S. and obtained his D.O. from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa in 1970. While living in Iowa, he met and married Arlene, a Registered Nurse. They moved to Akron, Ohio, where Ron completed an internship at Green Cross Hospital. Ron was in private practice for over 30 years while also working for various agencies including Westchester Jewish Community Services, Center for Preventive Psychiatry, and the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services.
After living in Greenwich Village together for five years, Ron and Arlene bought a house in 1977 in Briarcliff Manor where they raised 3 wonderful children; Nicole, Glenn, and Elise. Arlene stayed home with the kids while Ron worked which reflected his ideal view of parenting. In addition to an unwavering support of his children’s activities, he also felt it was important to take them on regular family vacations for a combination of fun and culture. Everyone who knew Ron appreciated his sincere willingness to always listen and try to understand. We will never know how many people he has helped.
