| Obituary:
Thaddeus (Ted) Polant, Sr. passed away on May 28, 2010. He was born on September 3, 1927 in the Bronx, NY to Joseph and Rose Polant. Beloved husband of Oriene (nee O’Beirne), whom he married on July 28, 1957 at Sacred Heart Church. Loving father of Theresa and her husband Lucio DiLeo, Thaddeus, Jr. and his wife Linda Polant and Oriene (Renie) and her husband Artie Robertson. Also survived by ten grandchildren. Ted was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Ted proudly served our country in the Army during World War II in the Pacific. He is the Commander of the VFW Post # 596 in Mt. Vernon. Ted was a former Building Inspector for the City of Mt. Vernon. He loved gardening and fishing and was also known to be a model train enthusiast. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church Soup Kitchen, 115 Sharpe Blvd. South, Mt. Vernon, NY 10550 in memory of Thaddeus Polant, Sr. |
