| Obituary: Demie Luongo of Mt. Vernon passed away on April 1, 2010. Demie was born in Bayonne, NJ on December 22, 1907 to Leonardo and Teresa Americo. She married Michael Luongo on Sept. 4, 1927. Michael passed away in 1942 and Demie went to work as a seamstress to support her family. She is survived by her son Joseph N. Luongo, daughter Theresa A. Coyle (Joseph) and a daughter-in-law Dorothy Luongo. Also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Demie was predeceased by her son Leonard. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 3, 2010 from 2 to4 & 6 to 8pm at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday April 5, 2010 at Our Lady of Victory Church 10am. In lieu of flowers donations to Our Lady of Victory Church Mt. Vernon, NY or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
