Obituary: Elizabeth (Betty) Costello peacefully passed away on January 30th after her long and brave struggle with Alzheimer’s.  Betty was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on October 26, 1927 to the late Victor and Kathleen (Walsh) D’Angelo.  Betty married her true love and soul mate, Anthony (Tony) Costello, on April 17, 1948.  They had two daughters, Dale Elizabeth Bard of Hernando, Florida and Catherine (Cathy) Rossi of New Rochelle, NY.  Her beloved husband Tony predeceased her unexpectedly and far too soon.  Betty balanced her life as an exceptional homemaker, mother and grandmother.  She had a natural flare for decorating and frequently entertained, serving delicious home cooked dishes.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved to paint and presented many treasured paintings to friends and family members.  Throughout the years Betty worked as an office manager in an Orthodontist’s office as well as for the Greenburgh Auxiliary Police Department.  During this time Betty became the town of Greenburgh’s first Auxiliary Police Woman.  She is survived by her loving daughters Dale and Cathy, her sons-in-law Randy Bard and Joseph Rossi and her cherished grandchildren: Dana, Christina and Lea Marinelli, Deanna De Luca and Anthony Basile as well as Deanna’s spouse Vincent De Luca and their daughter Gabriella De Luca, Betty’s first great grandchild.  She is also survived by her brother Michael D’Angelo and sister-in-law Jo-Ann and her sister Victoria (Vicki) Brennan and her brother-in-law Arthur as well as many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved and whom dearly loved her.  Betty will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her sense of humor, and her love of family, friends and her secret-pals.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Palm Beach County, Florida in memory of Elizabeth (Betty) Costello.
