| Obituary:
John Coppola of Yonkers passed away peacefully on March 25, 2010 surrounded by his family. John was born May 9, 1937 in Mt. Vernon to John and Patti (Lena) Coppola. He proudly served our country as an MP for the National Guard. John worked for over 20 years as a butcher in Carucci’s Meat Market in Mt Vernon. Later, he worked for Gristedes and the White Rose Co. as a meat director. He married Angela Catapano on April 27, 1958. John is survived by his wife Angela and their four children John (Jeanne), Gary, Rick (Annette), and Lori (Peter). He will be deeply missed by his ten grandchildren David, Christopher, Brian, Jason, Kevin, Dylan, Christina, Anthony, Nicholas and Amanda. John is predeceased by his brother Mario. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 7 to 9pm and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at St. Eugene’s Church at 11am. |
