Obituary:
Salvatore Cicchetti of Mt. Vernon passed away on April 9, 2010.  He was born on March 1, 1926 in Vallata, Italy to Antonio and Rosina Cicchetti.  Sal worked for over 25 years for the City of Mt. Vernon Department of Public Works. He was known throughout his life as an extremely hard worker.  He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. They were the center of his universe. Everyone who met him realized immediately how gracious and unassuming he was. His family and close friends also appreciated his humorous side. During his retirement years, he enjoyed preparing classic Italian dishes for his family.  One of his favorite dishes and his children’s was potato croquettes. Beloved husband of Raffaela, loving father of Anthony and his wife Dianne Cicchetti, Nicholas and his wife Toni Cicchetti and Guido and his wife Betsy Cicchetti; cherished grandfather of Rachael, Anthony, Sarah, Raffaela, Gianna and Sofia; dear brother of Gerarda, Diana, Elena and Filomena. Predeceased by his brothers Rocco and Guido, and his sisters Italia and Michelina. Also survived by many brothers and sisters in law, especially Susie and Angelo, who were dear to his heart. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
