Salvatore Casarella of Mt. Vernon passed away on May 10, 2010. He was born on June 2, 1932 in Guardia dei Lombardi, Italy to Michele and Angela Casarella. Salvatore is predeceased by his wife Rosa in 2001. Loving father of Michael and his wife Phyllis Casarella, Frank and his wife Annette Casarella and Angela and her husband William Capparelli; cherished grandfather of Joseph, Michael and Anthony Casarella, Frankie and Ella Capparelli and Alex Casarella; dear brother of Maria Trolio. Also predeceased by his sisters Teresa Casarella, Arcangela Casarella, Filomena Febbraio and his brothers Antonio and Giuseppe Casarella. Salvatore was an active member of the Guardia dei Lombardi Club and a proud member of Laborers Local Union 235. Family will receive friends 7-9 pm Wednesday and 2-4 & 7-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am Friday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church.
