| Obituary: Ann (Garofalo) Giarratano Porcaro of Edgewater, Florida, formerly of Mount Vernon, New York passed away peacefully on April 10, 2009. Ann was born on July 26, 1929 in Mount Vernon, New York to Madeline Colaccio and Anthony (Gaetano) Garofalo. She is survived by her loving husband Santo and her two children Victor (Donna) Giarratano and Joyce (Anthony) Piscopo. Also survived by her two stepsons Vincent (Gloria) Porcaro and Frank (Laura) Porcaro, seven grandchil dren, Anthony Piscopo, Jr., Cindy Porcaro, Nicole (Jay) Lagana, Scott Porcaro, Christina Porcaro, Frank Porcaro, Jr. and Michael Porcaro. She was the proud great grandmother of John Michael Piscopo, Aiden James Piscopo and Angelina Lagana. Fond sister of Grace (Geri) Thornton, loving niece of Louise (Colaccio) Zayac and many loving nieces and nephews. Ann at tended the Mount Vernon School system and worked for many years at Kulka Electronics and Regan of Westchester. Ann enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking for lot s of company. Ann was known for her com passion of others and for never being afraid to speak from her heart and give her honest and true opinion. Ann and Santo retired to Florida in 1993, where they enjoyed many years together and met many new friends. Family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am Friday at St. Ursula's Church, Mt. Vernon. |
