Obituary: James Edward Gear of New Rochelle passed away on January 9, 2009.  James was born in NYC on March 16, 1931 to James and Helen Gear.  He served in the United States Marines Corps during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart.  He married Antoinette Ferrara on May 30, 1958 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.  James worked for Union Carbide for thirty five years. He was an active parishioner at Holy Name Church in New Rochelle and volunteered in the School Library.  He is survived by his three daughters Helen Limardi, Maria Hughes and Johanna Estevez, son James E. Gear, five grand children Sarah, Pasquale James, Alex, Xavier and Maris Antoine tte.  He was predeceased by his wife Antoinette Ferrara Gear and his sister Florence Hackett.  Friends may visit the Yannantuono Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9pm.  Mass of Christian burial Monday at Holy Name Church      am
