Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Obituary: Gerardo DiStefano of Mt. Vernon passed away March, 10 2009.  He was born in Morra di Santis, Prov. di Avellino, Italy on May 22, 1939 to Michael and Maria Grazia DiStefano.  Gerardo married Maddalena Frascione in Italy and they came to the United States in 1965.  He worked for the White Plains School District for twenty years.  He loved to work and maintain his farm. He is survived by his wife Maddalena, daughter Grace (Steve) Gentile and a son Michael (Anna) Di Stefano.  Two brothers and one sister live in Italy.  Also survived by two grandchildren Andrew and Christine Gentile.   Dear Mama and Mike, We are grieving the loss of our good friend and neighbor. He gave us many hours of companioship and good friendship in our time at our farm. He was truly loved in German and will be terribly missed. It will never be the same without him. I hope to be at the funeral home this afternoon. My girls and I send all our heartfelt sympathy to you and prayers for dear Gerry. Sincerely, Alix Bennett
