Obituary: N.Y.S. Supreme Court Justice Jerry L. Crispino of Pelham Manor, N.Y. passed away on March 20, 2009 after a long and distinguished life as a Public Servant, Husband, Father and Grandfather, as well as a good friend to many.  He is survived by his beloved wife for 57 years Marguerite, his 2 very  devoted children, Nina Crispino-Messina of Pelham Manor N.Y. and Louis Paul Crispino of Key Largo Fla and his adored granddaughter Felicia Marie Messina.  Judge Crispino was born in East Harlem N.Y. on April 17, 1930 to Nina Fucci Crispino and Luigi Crispino. Few have served the public with greater distinction than Justice Jerry L Crispino.  As a jurist, lawyer and public official, he  spent his life devoted to the law and the needs of the community.  Indeed, few have experienced his rich and varied career of service on the federal, state and city levels in the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government.For more than a decade, Justice Jerry L Crispino  served as a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court where he exhibited a rare blend of legal scholarship and judicial temperament.  His elevation to the bench followed a long and distinguished tenure on the  New York City Council from 1975-1991, where he chaired the Land Use Committee, The Health Committee and Committee on Public Safety and was a member of the Finance and Standards and Ethics Committees.  Justice Crispino was  a former Deputy Commissioner of the New York City Departmen t of Real Estate and served as Associate Counsel to the joint Legislative Committee on the Study of New York State Alcoholic Beverage Laws.  He launched his career in public service by serving as Administrative Assistant to a United States Congressman.  Justice Crispino was the Democratic candidate for State Senator in 1968 and 1970.Prior to his ascension to the bench, Justice Crispino practiced law in New York City for more than 35 years.  He was admitted to the United States Supreme Court and to all State and Federal courts.  He is a graduate of Fordham Law School, LL.B., Manhattan College, BA and La Salle Military Academy.Upon Justice Crispino’s retirement from the State Supreme Court, Justice Crispino joined Hudson Valley Bank as a consultant. He is survived by his sister-in-laws Viola Salerno, Spring Lake NJ, Gloria Lorenz and brother-in –law Jack Lorenz of Rancho Mirage Calif.  His sister-in laws Orty Probo of Monmouth Beach NJ, Josephine Probo Wayside NJ brother-in-law Louis Valentino West Long Branch NJ and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Justice  Jerry L. Crispino will be greatly missed.
