| Services: Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4-8PM at Yannantuono Funeral Home, 584 Gramatan Avenue, Mount Vernon. Funeral Mass Monday 10AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Mount Vernon. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The family is grateful for the dedication and care given by the many physicians, nurses and hospital staff at St. John's Riverside Hospital. |

Ray Caroll, of Mount Vernon, passed away December 24, 2009. Born in New York City on January 6, 1925 to Remo and Anna (Mendolia) DeCarolis, Ray was a decorated hero who valiantly served in World War II with the Fighting 69th. He attended The Juilliard School of Music and was a vocalist for the Claude Thornhill Orchestra. Ray also worked many years in the health & fitness industry. Ray is survived by his beloved wife Joan (Zezze), his devoted daughters Donna Kelly (Giovanni) and Cathy Pickholtz (Paul), and cherished grandchildren Steven, Giovanni and Chelsea. Also survived by a brother Robert and sisters Ann, Emily, Elaine and Anita. A sister, Gloria, predeceased him. Many loving nieces, nephews and special friends survive him. He will be remembered affectionately by all who knew him.
