Sorensen of Mount Vernon died on Nov. 1, 2008 at Calvary Hospital after a six months illness with lung and spine cancer. John was born in Mount Vernon and was a lifelong resident of NY. He was a gifted draftsman and project manager for H & H Woodworking. John was beloved of all because of his kind, gentle nature, unselfish love, and generosity beyond his means. Despite unrelenting pain and suffering, he was courageous, philosophical, and grateful to the end. He is survived by mother Elizabeth and brother Thomas of VT; sisters Kitty and husband Bill Gayle of PA, Pat and husband Bob Maio of NY, Liz and husband Woody Wessel of CA; 15 nieces and nephews; and loving partner Pat Kalis of NY; preceded in death by father Philip Sr. and brother Philip Jr. Send Condolences/Message to Family
