Obituary: Barbara Anne Sell, a lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon passed away on November 7, 2008. She was born in the Bronx on February 3, 1942 to the late Zygmunt and Olga Gwardyak. Barbara was predeceased by her parents and a brother Gregory. Loving mother of Philip and his wife Claudia Sell; dear sister to Susan and her husband John Bemmetsberger, Michael and his wife Marian Gwardyak and John and his wife Karen Zambelli Gwardyak; cherished grandmother to Alejandro and Sebastian. Beloved life companion to Richard Polaico. Also survived by her former spouse Edwin Sell. Barbara was also loved and cherished by four nephews and one niece. She loved traveling, animals and had a wonderful free spirit. She was known for her poetry, painting and artistic abilities. She was also known to have a 'huge heart of gold'.
