| Visitation: John C. (JAKE) Longabucco, of Patterson (formally of Mt. Vernon)
passed away on January 24, 2008 one day after celebrating his 90th birthday.
Jake was born on January 23, 1918 in Mt. Vernon to John and Amelia (Gaccione) Longabucco. Jake was a graduate of the Mt. Vernon Public School System.
Jake married his beloved wife of 64 years, Marjorie (Pirone) on January 23, 1944 at Mt. Carmel Church.
He faithfully served his country, during WWII, in the Army-Air Corp. 604 Bomb Squad, attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. Jake was a member of the Newspaper-Mailers-Delivery Union for 35 years employed as a foreman for the Gaynor News Company. He retired in 1980. Jake was a member of V.F.W. Post 3050, the American Legion, the League of St. Jude and National Law Enforcement Society.
Jake is survived by his loving daughters and their husbands Marlene and Pelly Colasuonno and Felicia and Bobby Pelatti. Grandchildren Frankjohn and Michelle Colasuonno, Michele Colasuonno fiancé Andre Meneguini and Marissa Pelatti.
Great-grandson and namesake Jake Colasuonno. He is also survived by sisters Louise Rabasco and Ann DeAngelo; in-laws Andy and Ann Pirone, Anthony Giudice and Catherine Longabucco along with many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. He predeceased his brothers Ciro his wife Mary, Salvatore and Frank Longabucco and sister Margaret Giudice.
His love of family, country, sports and politics was unequaled. A quiet man, he was loved and respected and will be greatly missed by those who held him so dear.
