| Services: Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral home. A service will be held Thursday at 11AM at the 1st United Methodist Church in Mt Vernon. Interment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery. |
| Obituary:Ethel May Lamberton of Mt. Vernon passed away March 24, 2008. Ethel was born October 12, 1905 in Newark New Jersey to Robert and Margret Johnston. She married, the late, Charles H. Lamberton on April 18, 1969 in Reno Nevada. Ethel worked for the New York Times for 25 years as a cashier. She retired in 1973. Ethel is survived by her step-daughter Marie Valerio of Coos Bay Oregon, Sister Mary Rogers of Bloomfield New Jersey, and nieces and nephews Clarence and Don Sloss, John and Melvin Johnston and Mildred Washer. Ethel was predeceased by her step-daughter Stella Rubino, sisters Dorothy Stoll and Margaret Sloss and a brother John Johnston. Ethel was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon and volunteered at Mt. Vernon Hospital and United Hebrew Nursing Home in New Rochelle until she was 99 years old. United Hebrew Nursing Home was also her residence prior to her passing. Ethel's specialty was crocheting, arts and crafts, but she will always be remembered for her caring, thoughtfulness and generosity. |
