Maria Brito of Long Island City formally of Mt Vernon passed away with her family by her side on July 15, 2008. Maria was born August 11, 1911 and was raised in her home town of Almancil Portugal. She married Cirilo Brito on April 19,1937. Maria came to the U.S. in 1959 with her family. Cirilo passed away July 13,1975. Maria was a seamstress at local dress shops in Mt Vernon. She is the beloved mother of Maria Diminic (Sergio), Joseph Brito (Raelene), Madalena Hayes (Jack), John Brito (Linda). Very loving grandmother of Richard, Tanya, David, Leticia, Thomas, Michael, and James.
