Alessandro Benedetto Date of Death: October 6, 2008 Obituary: Alessandro Benedetto, a longtime resident of Mt. Vernon, passed away on October 6, 2008 after a long courageous and brave battle with lung disease. He was born in Andretta, Italy on March 22, 1936 to Giuseppe and Lucia (Russo) Benedetto. He served in the Italian Army as a Lieutenant. Beloved husband of 42 years of Nella Benedetto, loving father of Lucia (Nicholas) Tucci and Sandra ( Sal) LoPresti and cherished grandfather of Alexandria and Giulia Tucci. He is also survived by a sister Giovanina Scoco. Alessandro is predeceased by two brothers Antonio and Ciccillo Benedetto and a sister Rosetta Savarese. He worked for many years as a butcher retiring from Waldbaum's. Alessandro's family would like him to be remembered for his funny stories, loving spirit, infectious smile, his strength, perseverance in difficult times, determination to get things done and his deep love and loyalty to his family and friends.
