| Obituary:
Michael Accocella of Pelham passed away peacefully
at home with his family at his side on October 14, 2008. Michael was
born May 2, 1922 in Mt Vernon to Dominick and Mary Accocella. He served
in the US Army during WWII. Michael married Mary Garzi on September
2, 1942. Michael was self employed throughout his career. He started
out in landscaping and went on to real estate in the early 1970's.
Accocella Real Estate was located in Mt Vernon and is carried on in
the same family tradition by his son Michael. Michael was very involved
in the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, the VFW, and the Italian
Civic Association. He enjoyed winters in Florida, gardening, cooking,
bocci ball, and the New York Mets. He will always be remembered for
being outgoing, sincere, gentle, caring and all around wonderful human
being. Michael is survived by his two sons Joseph and Michael, sister
Rose Giovinazzo, two grandchildren, and his first cousin Nellie Patricello.
He is predeceased by his wife M ary, son Dominick, brothers Mario,
Anthony, and Dominick Jr. |
