| Obituary: Thomas James Battaglia Retired MVFD passed away on June 25, 2008. Thomas was born in Mt. Vernon on May 18, 1922 to Santo and Pauline Battaglia. Tom served in the United Stated Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1945. He married Elvira Bianchi May 14, 1950. He was appointed to the Mt. Vernon Fire Department the same year, retiring in 1986. Tom is survived by his beloved wife Elvira, loving father of Thomas Battaglia, Paula Frappaolo and Fred Battaglia, fond brother of Carl Battaglia, Consuelo DiNardo and Mary Capolarello, devoted grandfather of Troy, Dale, Bruno and Bianca Battaglia, Victoria Frappaolo and Joseph Frappaolo Jr. |

Sincere condolences to you all at this difficult time. Many fond memories of our families growing up at the firehouse picnics and functions. I am sure that Tom and my Dad are already playing jokes on each other in heaven.

My Condolences, I never worked with Tom but I met him after his retirement while I was working with the Lang's and Richy Raus. I always heard good things around the firehouse when his name would come up. They always said " he was a good firefighter" a comment that meens alot around the fire house. Best wishes.
